Our Baby Luke. He is getting soo big. Only a few more weeks until this little one turns one!
Saturday our family went to a picnic to meet up with a bunch of other families in our area that are larger than average. We have done this for three years and the children love it. The ladies above probably have close to one hundred children, combined. Isn't that amazing?! You should have seen the parking lot at this beautiful park the day we met. Full of big vans of every color! Sometimes it's nice to not be "the family with all those kids" for a few hours and just be a very normal, if not smaller sized family!
Our Benny is now in the parade, while Nate and Jeremiah stand and watch. Times goes too fast. Joel has a lot of fun doing Cub-Scouts with Benny. I know Benny loves it, and he was super excited to be in the parade. We had to talk him out of carrying our large flag on a pole during the parade. Jeremiah was going to rig him up with a holster for it and everything. So he threw some candy instead!
"Here they come! Here they come!" Our little boys loved seeing the fire trucks and police cars and the military vehicles too. And eating lots of candy.
Monday evening we hosted a family cook-out. Our first one of the season. We had a great time. The children were absolutely covered in dirt, and watermelon juice, and rice-crispy treat crumbs. Every one needed a good scrub down before bed. Rachael was so excited to have her cousin spend the night! I let them stay up a bit later and play dolls together before lights out. It sure was hot, but the fans gave us a nice breeze, and the cold washcloths on their foreheads, coupled with the tiredness from a day of hard play had all of the little (and big ones) drifting off to sleep before long.
Now Joel is at his last few days of school. Nate went along with Daddy today to work since there are no students in. They always enjoy special time with Dad. We are all here doing chores, and not, and trying to keep cool. The children are begging to go to the pool. It doesn't open until three right now, but it is sounding mighty good on such a hot morning! Welcome Summer! :)
