An Eleventh Birthday for Somebunny Special!

Our baby girl, Rachael, celebrated her eleventh birthday a few days ago.  It is hard to believe that time has passed so quickly.  Do you tire of hearing me say that?  Does it go by as fast for you as it does for Joel and I?  Eleven is a sad birthday for me, it is when the child outgrows counting her age on her fingers.  They officially are a big person.  I say that well aware of the joy of watching my children grow up and learn and become the unique person God is creating them to be.
Our beautiful Rachael, even if the coloring is a bit funky.  This little lady is one hundrend percent girl, with a  heart that is as beautiful as her face.  Her love for her family and her willingness, even eagerness, to help and to serve, is what characterizes our daughter.  That and her love of dresses and pretty things, and all things pink, especially pigs!  She still loves babies, real the most and baby dolls second.  She picked out a new baby doll for her present from her grandparents and has been loving on it ever since.
Timothy LOVES birthdays!  He sings the "happy birthday" song with enthusiasm and claps along, as in the photo above.  He knows that birthday song means birthday cake, or in this case, donuts for breakfast.  We had already celebrated with Joel's parents the night before, and instead of eating two cakes, we bought donuts and a yohoo for Rachael, a favorite treat for all of us.  Timothy's bananas were forgotten in the anticipation of a chocolate donut, which he devoured.  Rachael chose jelly filled, a favorite for her.
Rachael has been wanting a pet bunny for a few years now.  So we decided to finally go ahead and do it, become a family with a pet.  Rachael and Joel went and found a gorgeous baby bunny for sale, and brought her home to check out the new hutch that we had recently bought.
Here she is, a super cute mini lop.  We are all enjoying her.  She was handled often and is very friendly.  She is soft and mostly calm and enjoys being held.  She is only six weeks old.
Our new pet, Lucy-Belle the bunny!

Happy Birthday, Rachael!

On a side note...I might not be having the world's best memory, but I don't think we over the hill got the rain storm you blogged about previously. Looks like a l ot of fun was had by all though!! ;-)
