Two at Five

Happy Birthday to our Elijah Christopher!! He turned five on Sunday the 21st. As is typical for our Eli, he was very bashful when we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. It didn't help that he wasn't feeling very well either. He didn't even eat one of the banana-monkey cupcakes I made for him.
Elijah in a silly mood. He was ready to go to the library for story time, which was going to be about trains that day. He was pretty thrilled to wear his "train pants".

We have had a few gorgeous days this fall. About two weeks ago I had an errand to run about an hour and half away. On the way home we stopped, spur of the moment at a rural dairy and played on the playground. Elijah loves to run around, play on swings and climbing toys. He loves watching machines work, and playing with cars.
We love our Li-li so much. We love his little nickname. It is one that came about because some of the children could not pronounce Elijah when he was born. My friend, Tracy, who was raised in a Chinese speaking county thought Li-li was a neat nickname for our son. Many Chinese babies are nicknamed Li-li, it is a term of endearment, much like honey or sweetie.
Elijah was thrilled to receive a new three wheeled scooter for his birthday. He also loved his new "Toy Story" figurines and his Trio building set. Thank you to my parents and Joel's for such wonderful gifts.
It is hard to believe our little boy is getting so big. Elijah still seems pretty young to me, with having boys who are growing huge on me, and that he plays most with Asher. He still has a lot of trouble with his speech, but we feel he is improving. Elijah loves to run errands with Daddy, to go pick up a pizza, or go to the hardware store. He is sweet and plays nice with Asher. He likes to join the bigger children in the yard, and get pulled around in the wagon.
We are so thankful for the gift God gave us 5 Thanksgivings ago. Elijah came home just in time for turkey! He had a rough few weeks as newborn with low blood sugar and high jaundice and trouble eating, but he took off and hasn't slowed down since!! Happy Birthday Elijah!!!

And another little one who turned 5 last week. Luke turned 5 months on the 18th. He has two teeth now, and ran roll across the floor. Just now he rolled from his blanket in the living room, across that floor, into the dining room and to my chair! I guess he has figured out how to get to what he wants. He is growing way too fast. I just moved him in to 6-9 month clothing and size three diapers. He has a check up next week and I am so curious as to how big my little Lukie really is!!
