Look Who's Six!

Wow, our Thanksgiving Turkey turned six years old already!  Our tradition has been to give the newly turned six year old a two-wheeled (with training wheels) bike for a gift.  Eli got Nate's old bike that Joel fixed up with new training wheels, a good scrub, and a new bell!  We got him a new Cars 2 bike helmet and he was very happy with this.  He has been enjoying riding bikes with his brothers now.
After much talk about how he is NOT getting a longed for power-wheel for a gift, Elijah suggested some other things that he has wanted, including a truck, "just like mom-moms".  The problem with that is; the truck in reference was Joel's when he was a little boy and was probably purchased in 1976 or so.  It isn't available now :)  Elijah was just as happy with this vehicle set from his grandparents.
A typical face and mood for our silly, silly Li-Li.  This six year old is such a clown.  He used to be extremely shy, and hide behind the sofa whenever anyone came to visit.  He would put his head down and refuse to talk.  Well, he has opened up, to say the least.  We call him chatter-box now.  But he will still not talk to his speech teacher, or adults he doesn't know very well.  He will be polite, and answer a question, but he will not converse with them.  But in our home?  With his siblings and grandparents and those he loves?  Watch out.  We love you, Li-Li.  Six is going to be so much fun!
Li-Li and his twin, Verity, had a very fun breakfast date with Mom-mom and Pop-pop.  They had breakfast (waffles with whipped cream and milk) at a diner and then traveled to Hershey to go on the Chocolate world ride.  Three times.  They also had fun making chocolate.  Elijah was given two dollars in a card for his birthday and he was so excited to bring it along and buy his very own chocolate bar!  That is what is in the bag.
Making chocoates at the factory.  I am so glad that my parents do this fun tradition with the grandkids.  It really makes birthdays special and I am glad they are making such fun memories with their Mom-mom and Pop-pop.

On Sunday we had Joel's parents up for dinner.  We had spaghetti and meat sauce, salad, bread and the requested lemon cake.  Thankfully Luke, who had been throwing up all night long was feeling a bit better and I don't think we contaminated anyone.  We had a nice, noisy, visit.

Elijah, what a joy you bring to our home.  We all love you so much.  Happy Birthday Snuggle Puppy!
